Our Cruise - Carnival Triumph 09

Our cruise went pretty good. It was a bit rocky on the way there, and very windy. On Sunday night we went to dinner and met some nice people whom we would spend a great deal of time with during the cruise, Julie and Rick Frasier, Boris Millan, and Kirsten Crandall. Of course we ordered several different things from the menu each night, including two desserts on numerous occassions!! LOL! We did try some new things we hadn't tried before as well as many yummy favorites, like steak and lobster!! Monday was a day at sea, and we tried all day to find a lawn chair to sit in. When I finally did find two on the side of the boat, I just got my book and it started to pour!! We went down to the casino and did a little gambling, me at the slots and Curt trying his hand at black jack. Neither of us one anything that day :-(! Tuesday we layed out on the deck with our friends, Rick and Julie, all day and soaked up the sun. We docked in San Juan 2 hours later than scheduled due to the weather, so we decided to go the dining room first. Apparently, so did everyone else! LOL! It was like a herd of cattle being summoned to the dining room, no joke! They tried at first to assign people to tables but it was a crazy thing called open seating on that night, who's idea that was, needs to rethink it! They said normally no one comes to the dining room since they port at San Juan at 5pm, people get off and go in instead, but since it was later everyone went to the dining room, literally. They were short staffed and it was really a mess. The food was good though. By the time we got off the boat it was close to 8pm and it was already dark :-(, most of the shops were closed, the fort was closed, etc. We walked around town looking for soveneirs for the kids. I found a cute purse for Hilarie there. San Juan really reminded me of St. Augustine, with it's old city charm. I would really love to go back there during the day so I can see the sites. I heard there was an awesome kiak that was illuminated by these organisms that was really worth it at night though. The next day we were in St. Thomas for the day. We did a tour of Megan's Bay, which was a beautiful beach.

Our timeshare

We stayed at our timeshare this weekend in Orlando, called the Fountains. This is a view from our balcony. The kids had a great time playing in the kiddie area. We had to drag them out! The water was heated so it was pretty nice. We stayed in the new building so we just had to walk out and we were at the pool. Hannah really enjoyed the waterslide too, but Olivia had no desire to do that again! Last time we were here she tried it and hated it! LOL! Her favorite area is the sprayers as you can see here! All in all a good weekend!

Winterguard Competition

Emily had her Regional Championship competition in Orlando this past weekend. They did rather well, placing 5th place in their division. They should all be proud of themselves!
They are headed off to Dayton, OH today for World Championships! Wish them luck! I will miss you Emily!

Madelyn's birthday party.

One of my best friends, Jennifer, had her little girl's 3rd birthday party on Saturday, March 21st. I volunteered to make the birthday cake! LOL! It turned out ok. At least the birthday girl and her mom loved it!

Emily's sweet 16!

It's been quite a long time since I wrote. So much has happened. I wanted to post a picture of Emily's sweet 16. She had a nice party on Saturday, March 14th. We were going to have just a dance but Curt and I gave in and heated the pool and hot tub for her! Curt says you only turn 16 once! LOL! Anyway, she had a few friends over, we did a cook out and had cupcakes for the birthday girl. The pool never got really warm but they hopped in and out of the hot tub and back to the pool. I can't believe my little girl will be driving soon all by herself! YIKES! She gets her full license in May. Wish us luck! LOL!

Dial up sucks!

I'm waiting for my dsl to be hooked back up at my new address! Gotta love AT&T! I put the order in on January 9th, and now they tell me it will be at least 72 hours before my dsl will come on at my new address! My phone came on Thursday so it could be at least Monday before I have dsl service! This really sucks!

I am officially done moving, but still putting things away in boxes, etc. I love the new house and will take some more photos to post here for everyone to see as soon as I have faster internet service! I really don't know how we used to use dial up! LOL!

Hannah starts her new school on Monday. She's pretty excited, thank goodness! Her old teacher took some cute photos of her last day. I'll post them later as well. It would take so long with dial up.

I know I'm complaining, but it's what I do best! LOL! Take care everyone!

Ok, I'm crazy!

Yes, I keep changing the page over and over! It's very addictive and frustrating at the same time! I should be up moving things but instead I sit here playing with my page! LOL! My kids think I'm crazy and maybe they're right!

On a brigher note, I found out a friend of mine is pregnant! She's been trying for a year and a half and was ready to start fertility drugs. She went to the doctor yesterday because she thought she had an ulcer, and instead came out with a baby! LOL! She's goes back to the doctor next week for her first OB appt, but her unofficial due date for now is 8/31 I believe. I may be off by a day or two though, lol! I'm really happy for her and her family! I'm not saying who, cause you know who you are and I don't want to blab the surprise to everyone! LOL!

When Curt gets home today we are going to move more things. I can hardly wait....lol! We might move our family room furniture this weekend too, who knows? I want to move the swingset and get all the stuff from the backyard and side yard out of here, to the dump for some of it, I hope! LOL! My husband the packrat!

Well I hope my pictures have inspired some of my family to come for a visit! I'll update more later!

Cleaning house and the move goes on.

Well today I spent some time cleaning the current house we are at. It's getting easier to clean since alot of our things are in the new house. Curt still needs to get all the stuff out of the attic and the bits and pieces out of the garage. We have all our big furniture left to go too. We've been moving alot of that stuff you don't want to get rid of but don't know where to put it. Know what I mean? That stuff you put in the attic and it never comes down till you move again! LOL! Problem is I'm moving more stuff up to the attic! LOL! My closet looked like a bomb went off in there so I packed alot of it up and wala attic here I come! LOL!

I literally have no dresser now either. My clothes are minimal and we have our undies in a plastic bin in our bedroom! I sold my dresser last weekend at a garage sale, since we will be using the ones in the master bedroom at the new house. It was already full furnished, but we are not keeping all the furniture there, just the master bedroom and the dining room set. I have a picture of it here for you to see. I loved the set. I'll have to take a photo of the bedroom. Can't wait for this move!! Now I just go around the house looking for things I can pack up and move! I'm trying to keep the laundry up too since we don't have much to wear if I don't! LOL! I can't wait till it's over!

Hannah's school pictures finally came in today. Her teacher emailed me and I can't wait to see them! She had them taken in late October and it's taken sooo long to get them back. I will try and scan them for everyone to see later. Olivia's were adorable!

I haven't made it out to mow this week because it's so darned cold!! I know it's not below 0 here but I don't like cold anymore! It was 38 degrees this morning at 7:30am when I took Hannah to the bus stop. That's cold!!! It warmed to about 54. Talked to my sister and it was in the teens there! No thanks!

During the move I came across some old letters my mom had wrote to me when I younger, a teenager to be exact. I reread those letters and you know some of those things made sense to me now.....imagine that! LOL! She used to write the longest letters to me! I really enjoyed getting them. It was like she was there with me at that moment. I missed her a lot! It got me thinking that this blog would be a good thing for my kids to see what was going on in our lives and what I thinking at the time. It might be fun for them to read in 20 yrs! LOL! Who knows what technology we'll have then. I, for one, like that I can sit here and my desk and type away, much easier than sitting and writing! Faster and easier, what more can you ask for??

Tell next time!

Changing my layout

HELP!!! I'm at a complete loss. I have no idea how to change my layout! I've looked at endless websites telling me how to do it. Maybe I'll see if my 15 yr old daughter can show me. She's always changing her myspace page and I'm soooo clueless! LOL!

We are still in the middle of moving and I'm sooooo tired! The end of the month will be here before I know it! I'm getting sick and tired of packing boxes and unloading them! But I know it will be worth it!

I took a break from it today and practiced my skills at wii sports golf. I finally think I may have figured it out! I did the beginner and wound up with a -1! Now I'll have to try and challenge Curt! No, that's not me on here, just a sample I uploaded. I look much better than that mii! LOL!
Well I'm off to figure out what to cook my family for dinner! Take care!

New to blogging

I've been checking out a family member's blog and thought it might be fun to do one for our family too! I'm new to this, so it might take me some time to figure it out!

Our family is doing well. We are getting ready to move to a new house soon! We are really excited since we will be getting an inground pool and hot tub and a huge covered lanai! We plan to spend a lot of family time out there!

Our kids are growing so fast! Hilarie is graduating from high school in June, exactly 20 yrs after her mom! Makes me feel old! Emily is a sophmore this year and very busy with her Winterguard at school now. We are now doing the indoor season, which includes us driving to numerous competitions, mostly in Orlando. Ugh! The first one is today here in St. Augustine. Hannah is a typical first grader, enjoying school! Time will tell. LOL! Olivia is in PreK this year and really loves her teacher. She's not so much for homework, which I'm not sure is a very good sign! YIKES! Sophia, my granddaughter, is growing so fast! She is 2 1/2 now and a very typical 2 yr old. She loves her grandma though! The other day in the car she told her papa that she loved him, then she said "grandma, I love you more!" I about died from laughter! She's such a hoot!

Hilarie and Sophia will be leaving us soon for Orlando after graduation. I will miss them both terribly but understand that Hilarie wants to go so she can go to college, and be near Sophia's father. I'm sure I will see them often.

Curt and I have been married now for 11 years! My how time flies! He stays busy alot! Who could blame him with all the estrogen in this house! He works full time at Evergreen Cemetery as the superintendent. We also have a lawn service, Meadows Lawn Care, catchy huh? LOL! I help him out with it a couple days a week so he doesn't have to spend his weekends working it too! LOL! I enjoy getting out a couple days a week, only one in the winter, just to get away from the kids and have time to myself. The work isn't too bad and it's free exercise! LOL!

I'm trying to get off a few pounds, so I joined a gym in August. Things were going good at the beginning, but after the cruise the pounds starting creeping back in. I'm trying hard to get them all off this time! LOL! We got a wii for Christmas, and the wii fit. It's really pretty fun and challenging too. You can't lie about your weight either! I'll let you know about my progress as I go along.

This could actually be alot of fun! I love to write but never have to time! This way I can let my family and friends catch up without having to write to all of them! LOL!

Wish us luck on our move! Talk to you soon!
